Cikarang, 25 November 2025 — Three leading companies in Indonesia’s logistics and electric vehicle technology sectors—Kalista, Samudera, and Nusatama—have officially commenced the Heavy Duty Electric Vehicle (EV) Truck Trial through a kick-off ceremony held at Samudera’s logistics facility in Cikarang. This initiative marks a significant milestone in accelerating the adoption of heavy-duty electric vehicles for national logistics operations.

The trial is part of a collaborative effort to develop more efficient, low-emission, and sustainable industrial transportation solutions. The electric truck being tested is designed to handle intensive industrial operations, including full-container hauling, while delivering high durability and stable performance in demanding environments.

Throughout the trial period, the three companies will conduct a comprehensive evaluation covering real-world vehicle performance, charging efficiency, energy consumption, operational safety, and potential cost savings if deployed commercially. The results of this evaluation will serve as a foundation for decision-making and the development of a long-term roadmap for EV truck fleet adoption.
